About Irene Colquhoun
Movement, Figurative, Food and Portraiture Painting
Studying Fine Art, not only gave Irene the confidence to experiment and exhibit, but she found herself co-founding and co-ordinating an Art Group for many years, with the aim of establishing a wider interest of Art within the community.
From 2005 onwards, she worked with a group of Artists, on a variety of Charity and Community Projects, then later alongside the Local Council on Project Workshops, relating to the London Olympics. Subsequently, exhibiting an Olympic themed exhibition herself.
Later in life, she became an Art Tutor and enjoyed teaching and sharing her own experiences in Art with others, of all ages.
Today, Irene continues to paint and exhibit, in Movement, Figurative and Portraiture and more recently has been working on her latest project, which is the painting of food, where she works with tiles and plates.
As an active Artist, Irene has exhibited in London, at “The Mall Gallery”, “Waterloo Gallery” and “not the Royal Academy”, with her large contemporary Graphic Artworks.
Irene’s work has now evolved, where she enjoys a much brighter pallet.
She continues to exhibit on a regular basis both in UK and now more recently in her favourite region of Spain where she spends some of her holiday time, enjoying the incredible views and the warmth of the climate.
